One of the best items we have in our campervan is our Camp Chef Everest Campstove. But the problem is that the rigid propane regulators they provide don’t last long. In two years we have gone through two different propane regulators that broke. So we were left searching for the best replacement propane regulator for Everest Campstove.
We decided to move on from the ones supplied by Camp Chef and purchased our own. The Stansport Flexible Propane Regulator has (so far) been the answer to our prayers.

The Problem
The rigid propane regulators that Camp Chef provides with the Everest Campstove are not up to par. The first one became leaky and was impossible to connect without releasing a bunch of propane. So we contacted Camp Chef to warranty the part. The second one worked fine for a few months, and then all of the sudden broke and started spewing propane uncontrollably.
We were tired of the regulators ruining our experience with what is otherwise a really great camp stove.
Stansport Flexible Regulator To The Rescue
We decided to spend the money to test out a third-party regulator. The Stansport Flexible Regulator has been a much better experience so far. The 30″ flexible hose has a built-in regulator for connecting to 1-lb propane cylinders.
The flexible tube is so much better than the rigid regulators because you can curl the hose to keep the tank behind the stove. It helps reduce the total operational width of the Everest Campstove (which is already quite wide to begin with). The stove itself is 23 inches wide, and with the rigid factory regulator the total width is 30 inches. And you have no control over the placement of the propane bottle.
The Stansport Flexible Regulator brings the total width down to about 25-26″ depending on how curved you make the hose. And the propane bottle is hidden nicely behind thee stove.
Operation
The Stansport Flexible Propane Regulator is fairly straightforward to use. It has a threaded end that connects to the right side of the stove.
The flexible 30″ hose allows you to place the propane canister anywhere within reach.
The other end has a propane regulator built-in and connects to any standard 1-lb propane cylinder (small green propane tanks). We typically leave this end attached to the propane cylinder for the duration of it’s life.
Placing the propane cylinder behind the stove interferes less with our kitchen sink.
Caveats
But it’s not completely perfect right out of the box.
For us, the hose came coiled the opposite way from how most people would use it. And while the hose is flexible, it does “remember” it’s shape pretty well. But over a week or so, we would coil up the hose the other way. And eventually, it conformed to curve the right way for our setup.
Conclusion | Best Replacement Propane Regulator For Everest Campstove
We just wanted to share what we think is a great solution to the crappy regulators provided with the Camp Chef Everest Campstove. The Stansport Flexible Propane Regulator has been a solid solution to our problem. The camp stove is really top-of-the-line otherwise, so we were bummed that the regulators were ruining the user experience. Hope it works for you too!
