How To Make Easy Stovetop Pizza

For those of you that don’t know, Jake and I live out of a camper van full-time. When building out our van, we had a predicament of whether to buy the Camp Chef Propane Oven or Camp Chef Stovetop. We decided to just go with the stovetop and adapt to not having an oven!

Often times, I thought about the foods we wouldn’t be able to cook without an oven (aka Pizza!). But, a few months into vanlife, we got a little adventurous in the kitchen! So we decided to cook stovetop pizza, and boy, was it a success!

Details For Easy Stovetop Pizza:

Prep Time: 5 min

Cook Time: 20 min

Total Time: 25 min

Servings: 2

Ingredients For Easy Stovetop Pizza:

  • Precooked Pizza Crust
  • Pizza Sauce
  • Pizza Blend Cheese
  • Toppings Of Your Choice
  • Parmesan Cheese

Equipment Needed For Cooking Easy Stovetop Pizza:

  • 10-12 inch pan or skillet w/ lid (we love our Caraway Non-Stick Pan)
  • Stovetop
  • Spatula
  • Pizza cutter or knife

Directions For Cooking Easy Stovetop Pizza:

  1. First, gather all the ingredients together. Pre-cook any ingredients that are raw or need extra time to soften.
  2. Place pre-cooked pizza crust in pan on medium-low heat. Keep the pan uncovered. Cook crust for 5 minutes or until golden brown on the bottom.
  3. Flip the crust over keeping the stove at medium-low heat. Add pizza sauce, cheese and toppings.
  4. Cover pan with lid for about 10 minutes or until cheese is melted. It is okay to check crust with a spatula. (Depending on the stovetop or burner, you might need to shift the pan to not burn the middle).
  5. Transfer cooked pizza onto cutting board. Sprinkle with parmesan and let cool.
  6. Cut stovetop pizza into desired amount of slices and enjoy!

Takeaway:

We were amazed at how easy making pizza on a stovetop was! The pizza turned out to have a perfect crunch and wasn’t soggy at all! You don’t need a skillet or fancy pan, just a pan that fits the size of the crust.

Note: We have found the Stonefire pizza crust to work best, but you can use tortillas as well.
