Why We Love This Get Out Gear Down Puffy Blanket:
One of my favorite features of the Get Out Gear Down Puffy Blanket is the hands-free snaps. When we were watching a sunrise hike in Hawaii, this blanket was detrimental to keeping me warm. Unlike other blankets where you drape it over your shoulders and then you have to hold it together to make sure it doesn’t fly off or let in cold air, this Get Out Gear Down Puffy Blanket allows you to freely use your hands so it safely stays draped over your shoulders. Therefore, I was able to snap a few photos and the blanket kept me warm while my hands were free doing other stuff.
But that’s not the only reason I love this blanket. It’s super compact so it fits perfectly in my hiking pack for any adventure. And every time I fly, I pack this baby along because I love having a blanket to use wherever I am in the world! Plus it doesn’t add much extra weight to my backpack with it only weighing 1.1 lbs.
One thing I wish I could improve would be the temperature rating. It’s rated to keep you warm in temperatures of 45 degree Fahrenheit or above. So when up on a mountain top it might not keep you as toasty warm as you might like. But ultimately, it is a great blanket to pack along on most adventures to add that extra layer of down to keep your whole body warm. It’s also big enough to share if you don’t have it wrapped around your whole body.
The price might be a little steep for an additional blanket to carry around, but it is made of down which tends to drive the price up a little bit. Therefore, I believe this blanket is totally worth the price!
